April Brought Heat...

And not just because I have a dragon shifter book out this month! New York City has decided mid-April is a good time for late spring heat. Close to summer? I do not want to turn the air-conditioners on yet, but it is nice to go outside without a coat.

Season Three will start back up again in 2027 (a year that feels very weird to me, like, how did we get to 2027 already? The 80s were only 20 years ago LOL). More on that as the date approaches. but in the meantime, I hope readers enjoy THE CHAIN JOB!

I really think Cary Redmond readers are going to enjoy this book. We're visiting Cary's excessively mundane family, with the entire Jones family of shapeshifters coming along for the ride. And I can't believe it's July already! This year is just flying past. I didn't mind that so much in my youth, but now, I'd be happier if things slowed down. *grin*

This month, I have a fun experiment out. A collection of stories, all starting with the same line, all six of them in completely different genres! And they all start with the line (and the question), Who steals a dragon?

Which, when you think about it, is a really good question.

This is what I'm calling a Pick Your Genre collection. A collection for the eclectic reader. The person who reads all kinds of genres, but what they read at any give point really depends on their mood. Well, in this collection, you get to pick the genre you're in the mood for! First of 2 February Posts

Thanks to a bout of Covid for me and my youngest (sigh) I'm a little behind this month--for the record, we're both doing well, thanks be to vaxxes. He's fully recovered and I'm on the mend. Fingers crossed my oldest and husband don't get sick now. More sighing.

Anyway! Personal note added just so you know that I'll be posting a second update this month. I may have to push out the release of my second story for this month and the novel for next month by about a week each, since I lost a week of work. I will update here as soon as I know.

In the meantime, I did get the Valentine's Day release up and it's out now! Once again, it is not a Valentine's day story or a romance or anything like that. For some reason, I don't lean into publishing my romances on Valentine's Day LOL.

On top of the exciting news of a new paranormal romance series, I'm also starting the new year with a new store! 

I'm pretty excited about this, though it's still a work in progress. But if you'd like to buy from me directly, you can visit Kat Simons Books and see the store. Right now, I only have eBooks available, all of which are fulfilled by BookFunnel for ease of download and excellent customer support. In the next few months, I'll roll out print editions. Eventually, I'm hoping to have voice actor narrated audiobook options available, too, but at the moment, that level of production is outside my operating costs. I really want to have all my books as accessible as possible, though, and the digitally narrated versions are within my current means, so we'll be working to make those available at least.

NEXT MONTH

In February I have two new novellas releasing (busy month!)

The first is a new Joan of Kerry story JOAN AND THE KRAKEN, when Joan and her dragon companion Rory have to face, well, a kraken. That eBook releases on February 14th because apparently I'm not a stickler for releasing romances in February. 

The second release, at the end of February, is a new Cary Redmond novella! It's a St. Patrick's Day story, so it'll be available in time to read on St. Patrick's Day if you're so inclined. CARY'S LEPRECHAUN TROUBLES (because of course she has trouble with leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day) will be available in eBook on the 21st of February. It will also be included in an upcoming collection of Cary Redmond shorts and novellas in print and eBook. More on that soon.

August Releases and Updates

This month I have two releases out. One is a short story from the HAUNTS AND HOWLS AND GUARDIAN SPELLS collection releasing as a standalone eBook. More on that one below.

The other release is a brand new Demon Witch novella, Howling Dreadful!

Howling Dreadful goes back to the first time Angie met Sebastian. And it's not exactly a typical Meet Cute. This book releases on August 23rd.

If you like reading in chronological order for stories, first of all, I'm sorry! I know I'm writing the short stories and novellas related to the main series out of order. I write them as they come to me, and only when Angie feels the need to tell me about a particular incident in her past.

In September, the next novel in the series is out! SPIDERWEB WITCH, out September 13, 2022 continues Angie's struggles with the demon hunter world and her feelings for Sebastian. October is Here!! Yay!!

Okay, I know I'm supposed to head a post with information about the newest release, but October is my favorite month in my favorite season. And this year Halloween falls on a Saturday AND there's a full moon that night AND it's a blue moon. So while 2020 has been a craptastic year in a LOT of ways, I'm gonna celebrate October and the season as best as I can.

And speaking of how to celebrate the season of Halloween and full moons, how about a spooky Cary Redmond story? For those reading the main series and wondering just how that meeting with the goblin king went...well, this is the story for you.

Now a little news. For those of you who are paranormal romance readers and loved the Tiger Shifters series, I will have a novel coming out in 2021 that is a crossover story between Cary Redmond's world and the Tiger Shifter world. I'm almost finished with the book as I type this--I thought it would be a novella and then...well, now it's a full novel. LOL.

I'll post the release date news as soon as I have it. It'll likely come out in May or September 2021 depending on other releases and of course the world. You'll get to meet the hero of that story--Deacon's youngest brother Dylan--next month in the next Cary Redmond short story (actually that's a novella length story too--everything seems to be turning out longer than I intend lately!). And the heroine of the crossover is Amy Donovan's sister Cat (from Taming Her Tiger).

The next Cary Redmond novel, THE TROUBLE WITH MAGIC AND FAERY CURSES, is due out in January 2021 so long as the world (and distance learning with two kids with two very different schedules!) doesn't scupper my plans. So look for that then. And for those who prefer reading in print, I'll have an ebook and print edition of some of Cary's short stories available in December (again barring catastrophes which seem to be cropping up a lot in 2020). More on that next month.
