Happy Galentine's Day!

If I were being true to the spirit of Galentine's Day, I'd probably release this short story on February 13th. But the fact that I have a holiday story coming out in the correct month for the holiday (or in this case, the anti-holiday to replace the actual holiday), I'll count that as a win.

To help her best friend Lucy get through her most dreaded and hated holiday, Cary and the girls are skipping Valentine's Day in favor of Galentine's Day. And of course, it can't be a quiet night out.

October is Here!! Yay!!

Okay, I know I'm supposed to head a post with information about the newest release, but October is my favorite month in my favorite season. And this year Halloween falls on a Saturday AND there's a full moon that night AND it's a blue moon. So while 2020 has been a craptastic year in a LOT of ways, I'm gonna celebrate October and the season as best as I can.

And speaking of how to celebrate the season of Halloween and full moons, how about a spooky Cary Redmond story? For those reading the main series and wondering just how that meeting with the goblin king went...well, this is the story for you.

Now a little news. For those of you who are paranormal romance readers and loved the Tiger Shifters series, I will have a novel coming out in 2021 that is a crossover story between Cary Redmond's world and the Tiger Shifter world. I'm almost finished with the book as I type this--I thought it would be a novella and then...well, now it's a full novel. LOL.

I'll post the release date news as soon as I have it. It'll likely come out in May or September 2021 depending on other releases and of course the world. You'll get to meet the hero of that story--Deacon's youngest brother Dylan--next month in the next Cary Redmond short story (actually that's a novella length story too--everything seems to be turning out longer than I intend lately!). And the heroine of the crossover is Amy Donovan's sister Cat (from Taming Her Tiger).

The next Cary Redmond novel, THE TROUBLE WITH MAGIC AND FAERY CURSES, is due out in January 2021 so long as the world (and distance learning with two kids with two very different schedules!) doesn't scupper my plans. So look for that then. And for those who prefer reading in print, I'll have an ebook and print edition of some of Cary's short stories available in December (again barring catastrophes which seem to be cropping up a lot in 2020). More on that next month.

A New Release in a Time of Weirdness

Hello! I hope everyone is safe and healthy!

I'm a little late posting this because even though we're all trapped in our homes for COVID-19 reasons, my schedule with school-aged kids around all the time has gotten more hectic rather than less. I'm currently jumping back and forth from typing this to helping my oldest with his math.

Ah well. It's for the greater good. And I'm happy to have them home safe while the world is a bit chaotic. I hope you're all staying safe as well!

In the meantime, in the midst of the transition to this new normal last week, I had a short story release. It feels very weird to even talk about that, but since I've been finding solace and support in fiction, I figure others probably are too. So here's the new book and link:

Now, it's hard to choose your favorite baby, as they say, but I love this short story a lot. Mostly because I love basset hounds and I love bookstores and it combines the two. Not much better in the world--except for maybe coffee and pizza. Yes, Cary and I share these loves. I was going to call them vices, but really, how could you call something as glorious as pizza or coffee a vice?

For the chronologically inclined, this story takes place about 4 months after Cary was "tricked" into becoming a Protector. And her world just keeps getting weirder.

As someone whose vision is, shall we say, not the best without my glasses, and whose eyesight is getting that bit worse with age, eBooks have been great for being able to adjust font sizes. But sometimes I still love reading in print. And while I'm still able to read regular print books, I have realized my poor aging eyes might need something a little larger in the future.
